Somewhere Over The Rainbow

I think we are all familiar with Over The Rainbow. --Thank you Wizard of Oz-- However, ever since I was a child, I have loved this song. I credit it to the fact that I used to climb the trees in my backyard and pretend I could fly. I used to dream of flying all the time. It helps that I have had quite the imagination for as long as I can remember... when you live inside of your head most of your life, you sort of have to. There was an episode of a show I used to watch where they went inside of my favorite characters head, and she say's, "Yeah, it's sort of Mary Poppins-esk, isn't it..." It made me laugh because that is what I have always said about the inside of my head. I don't think within the box. I don't like to. It seems rather stuffy, and boring to me. I don't think in linear lines either. It is my belief there is always more than one solution to everything, and sometimes you have to be creative when handling a crisis. Throw a little splash of color, so to speak. These days, it seems, everyone thinks, feels, does everything in black and white. BLAH! Give me some color, PLEASE!!! Well, as much as I love rain, and the feel of the clouds, and the deepening of color that all the water and shadows give -- I love the splash of color a rainbow paints across the sky -- as a child I used to pretend I could jump from my tree branch to the other side of the rainbow. And much as Dorothy found out, the other side was something magical, and fun, and colored. However, all I ever got was a scratch and a bruise or two from jumping out of the trees. Not to mention, there is no place like ones bed with a good book and a warm cup of Starbucks on a cold day. [Thank you Starbucks for going corporate and putting your product in powder form so I can buy it and enjoy it at home when I can't make it to your cafe]

Billy Ray Cyrus Fix Anyone?

Why yes, thank you! I think I will! Somebody Said A Prayer Give My Heart To You Did I mention he did a cover of one of my favorite songs? Over The Rainbow and of course... Have to have an old one... Know The Words By Heart

Birdy

My newest artist obsession. 15 year old, United Kingdom native...

Without A Word (Demo) - Birdy

Help The People (Live) - Birdy

The A-Team (Ed Sheeran Cover) - Birdy

Shelter - Birdy

I find shelter in this way
Under cover, hide away
Can you hear when I say
I have never felt this way
Maybe I had said something that was wrong

Can I make it better with the lights turned on
Maybe I had said something that was wrong
Can I make it better with the lights turned on
Could it be, was I there
It felt so crystal in the air
I still want to drown whenever you leave
Please teach me gently how to breathe
And I'll cross oceans like never before
So you can feel the way I feel it too
And I'll send images back at you
So you can see the way I feel it too
Maybe I had said something that was wrong
Can I make it better with the lights turned on
Maybe I had said something that was wrong
Can I make it better with the lights turned on

Skinny Love - Birdy

Come on skinny love just last the year
Pour a little salt we were never here
My my my – my my my – my my my my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

I tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My my my – my my my – my my my my
Right in the moment this order's tall

I told you to be patient I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced I told you to be kind
And In the morning I'll be with you
But it will be a different kind
I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love what happened here
Suckle on the hope in lite brassiere
My my my – my my my – my my my
Sullen load is full so slow on the split

I told you to be patient I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced I told you to be kind
Now all your love is wasted then who the hell was I?
Cause now I'm breaking at the britches
And at the end of all your lines

Who will love you? who will fight?
And who will fall, far behind?

Come on skinny love ........
My my my – my my my – my my my

Echo - Jason Walker

This song reminds me of my younger brother. It breaks my heart to see him so unhappy, but he won't let anyone in. So, I'll wish, and pray that someday he finds someone he can confide his secrets in. That maybe one day, he will understand the power and the majesty of the atonement, and finally forgive himself for the things in his past and accept the love his family has for him.

Hello, hello
anybody out there?
'cause I don't hear a sound
alone, alone
I don't really know where the world is but I miss it now

I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name
like a fool at the top of my lungs
sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright
but it's never enough
cause my echo, echo
is the only voice coming back
my shadow, shadow
is the only friend that I have

listen, listen
I would take a whisper if
that's all you have to give
but it isn't, isn't
you could come and save me
try to chase it crazy right out of my head

I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name
like a fool at the top of my lungs
sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright
but it's never enough
cause my echo, echo
is the only voice coming back
my shadow, shadow
is the only friend that I have

I don't wanna be down and
I just wanna feel alive and
get to see your face again

but 'til then
Just my echo, my shadow
youre my only friend

I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name
like a fool at the top of my lungs
sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright
but it's never enough
cause my echo, echo
oh my shadow, shadow

Hello, hello
anybody out there?

I Won't Give Up - Jason Mraz

I have been obsessed with this song for the last 3.5 weeks of my life. I finally sat down and figured out the lyrics. This single hasn't been released yet, so we'll all just have to wait for it!

Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up

When I look into your eyes.
It's like watching the night sky,
Or a beautiful sunrise.
So much they hold.

And just like them old stars,
I see that you've come so far.
To be right where you are,
How old is your soul?

I won't give up on us,
Even if the skies get rough.
I'm giving you all my love.
I'm still looking up.

And when you're needing your space,
To do some navigating,
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find.

Cause even the stars they burn,
Some even fall to the earth.
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it!
No I won't give up!

I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily,
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make.
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use the tools and skills that God gave,
We got a lot at stake.

And in the end you're still my friend,
At least we did intend for us to work,
We didn't break we didn't burn,
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in.
I had to learn what I got, and what I'm not and who I am.

I won't give up on us,
Even the skies get rough,
I'm giving you all my love.
I'm still looking up.

So easy is our life,
What's mine is yours and yours mine.
Hardly do we ever fight,
We'd rather be kind!

I won't give up on us.
Even if they skies get dark.
I'm healing this broken heart.
And I know I'm worth it!

I won't give up on us,
God knows I am tough
I am loved
We got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it

No I won't give up on us,
God knows I'm tough enough,
We got a lot to learn.
We are, and we are worth it.

No I won't give up.

No, I won't give up.

Rolling In The Deep - Covers

Normally, I am not a fan of song covers done by random artists. Especially when it is an original song, sung by an artist with a crazy unique voice. Best example of this: Adele. Adele's song Rolling In The Deep has skyrocketed off the charts. Covers are being done by everyone. Including bands that NEVER do covers. Perfect Example of this is Linkin Park at the Itunes festival in London. Now Linkin Park is notorious for not doing covers, and pride themselves on writing their own songs. But their cover of Adele is by far my favorite, and I really do have to give them credit. There are 2 other covers I honestly didn't mind. They are a military band, and the american idol top 3 winner. Original Music Video: Rolling In The Deep - Adele Rolling In The Deep - Linkin Park Rolling In The Deep - Military Cover Rolling In The Deep - Haley Reinhart I will say this, there is NOTHING like watching Adele live. I had the pleasure of standing front row, center stage for her concert here in Salt Lake City, Utah! Gallivan plaza isn't my favorite venue, but you know what, It is Adele. She would sound amazing no matter where she was singing!
